On September 10th we welcomed Insight Tours for a guided bus tour of the district. To date this is the largest tour group we have hosted.
Tanja and I met the group in Culcairn and gave a commentary of the history and heritage of the area. Our first stop was John McLeans grave near Culcairn, located on the former Round Hill Station. He was shot and killed by bushranger Dan Morgan. This theme continued with our next stop of Morgan’s Lookout opposite the former Walla Walla Station before continuing on to the township of Walla Walla. The group visited a number of historic buildings such as the congregation school, the fire station, historic shops and the Water Tower Mural before partaking of a German themed lunch at the Soldiers Memorial Hall.
