We had glorious weather for ANZAC Day Commemorative services, with the Dawn Service attended by 70 people braving the cold morning. Thanks to the Men’s Shed for providing bacon and eggs rolls and hot coffee after the service.
It was also wonderful to see the large crowd at the Main service. Thanks to the military for their ceremonial support, including Guest Speaker Sgt. Evan Gudge, Ode/Wreath Layer Sgt. Nicole Thwaite and Catafalque Party/Marching Contingent Cpl. Suzanne Woolard and soldiers. Appreciation also goes to the Scots School Pipe Band, Pr. Luke Blunden, Cr. Annette Schilg, and the committee. St. Paul’s School Captains Ethan Wenke (Prologue) and Ella Liescke (Bible Readings). Walla Walla and Walbundrie Public Schools, placed poppies in the hedge at the conclusion of the wreath laying.
The Red Cross and Lions provided lunch and we contributed our pop-up museum display as part of the memorabilia display with the theme Women in Service.
