Despite a forecast for rain, we had a glorious day to celebrate ANZAC Day. The day commence with a Dawn Service; street march and the main service held at Bicentennial Park. This year our theme was the 80th Anniversary of the end of WWII.
We welcomed the catafalque party, who also formed the marching contingent. The pipers and drummers from Scots School Albury led the March. Our guest speaker was Lt. Robert D’Addario, with our special guests Commanding officer Lt. Colonel Han’s Hamilton and Warrant Officer Christopher Clifton. Cr. Ash Lindner attended on behalf of Great Hume Council.
There was a large memorabilia display in the hall this year which stretched around the walls of the carpeted area. A new edition to the honor boards in the hall will be The Walla Sub board which formerly had a home in the Culcairn RSL rooms. It was also great to see the Walla Walla Public School honor board hanging on the wall with the others. members of the ANZAC Committee and our museum will be researching to see if we can add some more names to it in the future.
